To protect the motor on the Bissell 9-quart Canister Vacuum, use the HEPA Motor Filter. HEPA filters are constructed to remove 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns or larger from entering the motor, which can cause serious damage.
Dust, pet dander, mold spores, and pollen are captured in the filter medium instead of circulating through the vacuum. Changing the motor filter is simple. Unlock the vacuum cover, and remove the lid to expose the motor filter. Remove the filter and replace it with a new one.
When putting a new motor filter in the Bissell Canister Vacuum make sure all four notches are aligned on the filter and motor housing. Push the filter on the housing to make sure that it is securely in place.Never use the Bissell Canister Vacuum if the motor filter is not installed.
